HYDRAULIC BURSTING CAMBRIDGE

WHAT IS HYDRAULIC BURSTING?

Hydraulic bursting is the safest and most efficient techniques for breaking down large structures of concrete, stone, and masonry in the most controlled manner. The method produces very minimal to zero noise and vibration during the deconstruction process. When accurate and noise-free demolition is required in public locations such as schools, offices, hospitals, supermarkets, and businesses, hydraulic bursting is the perfect solution.

HOW HYDRAULIC BURSTING WORKS

To begin with, hydraulic bursting requires the use of a diamond drill to produce a series of holes in a mass of concrete or stone. Once the initial diamond drilling process has been carried out, a hydraulic buster head is then put inside the pre-drilled holes and the pressure is raised substantially, in excess of 2000 tonnes, in order to break the material in a controlled manner.

The vast amount of pressure makes concrete crack instead of shattering it into small pieces, therefore reducing the risk factor. For larger concrete structures that need to be broken apart, the process is repeated until the entire structure is cracked into several small sections. When used with diamond drilling, the non-percussive hydraulic bursting process can remove large sections of the structure in a quiet, clean, and safe manner.
