DIAMOND WIRE SAWING CAMBRIDGE

WHAT IS DIAMOND WIRE SAWING?

Diamond wire sawing is used in the most demanding of controlled demolition scenarios and is best suited when alternate drilling or cutting methods are not applicable.

Diamond wire sawing is carried out by using a length of diamond-imbued wire which is then wrapped around the object to be cut and run through a pulley system. If required, multiple pulley wheels can be fixed in several locations around the concrete structure. This allows the wire to be manipulated as required and routed around the concrete structure in whatever path is considered necessary. The adaptable aspect of diamond wire sawing enables us to saw through complex masses of concrete and at virtually limitless depths.

THE DIAMOND WIRE SAWING PROCESS

The diamond wire sawing process is rapid, with the pulley system driving the wire around the material to be cut at 25 lineal metres per second. The diamond saw is also operated remotely, allowing operatives to safely distance themselves from the machine. Not only does this make diamond wire sawing a safe concrete cutting option, but it also means that it’s the perfect tecnique to cut concrete that’s submerged beneath water for underwater or subsea concrete cutting projects.

Due to the expert knowledge, training, and experience that is required to operate a wire saw safely and efficiently, hiring a diamond wire sawing contractor is the most cost-effective and accurate solution where complex diamond cutting is required.
